A safe natural lake treatment strategy
Using a blend of three natural Microbe-Lift products—PBL, Sludge Away, and PBD—creates a balanced, self-sustaining lake that resists algae naturally. Rather than fighting algae with harsh chemicals, this approach works by removing the nutrients that algae depend on, allowing the lake to stabilize over time.
Microbe-Lift PBL (Pond Bacteria Liquid) acts as the fast starter. It introduces a large, active population of beneficial bacteria directly into the water column. These bacteria begin breaking down dissolved organic waste and excess nutrients almost immediately, reducing the food source that algae need to grow.
Microbe-Lift Sludge Away focuses on the bottom of the lake. Over time, leaves, fish waste, and decaying plant matter settle and form a layer of nutrient-rich sludge. This material slowly releases nutrients back into the water, fueling algae blooms. Sludge Away contains specialized bacteria and enzymes that digest this organic muck, reducing sludge depth and eliminating a major nutrient source at its origin.
Microbe-Lift PBD (Pond Bacteria Dry) provides the long-term biological engine for the lake. These dry, slow-release packets contain concentrated beneficial bacteria that activate gradually as water moves through them. Instead of a quick burst of activity, PBD delivers a steady, ongoing bacterial population that continues breaking down organics, stabilizing water chemistry, and preventing nutrient buildup. Placed around the lake, the packets act like multiple biological treatment stations, keeping the ecosystem balanced week after week.
When used together, the three products work synergistically. PBL jump-starts the bacterial population, Sludge Away removes the accumulated muck that feeds algae, and PBD maintains a consistent level of beneficial bacteria throughout the system. Because each product supports the others, the lake becomes biologically balanced more quickly, and you often need less than the normal suggested amounts to maintain clear, healthy water.
The result is a cleaner, healthier lake with less sludge, fewer algae problems, and a stable ecosystem that supports fish, plants, and wildlife—naturally and safely.
